Musician Billy Joel has been attempting to sell his expansive oceanfront property in Lantana, FL, measuring 13,349 square feet, for an extended period. Despite being on the market with a price tag of $54.9 million for the nine-bedroom mansion, there hasn’t been any interest from potential buyers.
Acquired by Joel in 2015 for $22,109,100, the modern Mediterranean compound was first listed in 2018 at $31.9 million but was taken off the market when it didn’t sell. It reappeared in 2022 with an increased asking price of $64.9 million. Despite a $10 million reduction, the property still made it onto the list of the week’s Most Expensive Homes.
Christian Angle, the listing agent from Christian Angle Real Estate, couldn’t be reached for comment. The 1.6-acre estate is reputed to feature elaborate details, including a striking dual staircase, uniquely designed ceilings, and intricate millwork.
Built-in 2010, the impressive residence in the Sunshine State welcomes guests with a grand foyer boasting double staircases, wrought-iron rails, and Billy Joel’s iconic musical instrument as the centerpiece.
