Barbara Corcoran Urges a Shift in Perspective: Consider Relocating for Affordable Housing Instead of Florida

If you’re searching for budget-friendly real estate options with great value, financial expert Barbara Corcoran has valuable insights on ideal locations.

During a recent appearance on “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show,” the renowned real estate mogul shared her top advice for navigating the housing market successfully. Discussing the significant migration to Florida during the COVID-19 pandemic, Duran highlighted the expanding real estate boom to other areas within the state.

For those who might have missed the opportunity in Florida, Corcoran suggests exploring regions with lower-rated school districts and affordable prices, particularly for buyers without plans to raise children.

Corcoran recommends considering locations in the South, excluding the hot spots, where affordable homes are consistently available. She emphasizes that there are always opportunities to find reasonably priced houses. Addressing questions about the legitimacy of overseas real estate deals with extremely low prices, Corcoran dismisses them as scams.

She cites her personal experience of exploring such houses in Italy but notes the challenge of these locations being largely uninhabited, raising the question of the desirability of living in a remote Italian village alone. When it comes to the timing of buying a home, Corcoran asserts that, in all her appearances on the show, she has never declared it a bad time to purchase a house.

According to her, it’s always a favorable time to enter the market, emphasizing the importance of seeing the purchase as more than just an investment. Corcoran encourages prospective buyers to view it as an opportunity to create a home, a place to raise children, and to enjoy life’s moments.

She emphasizes the unique chance to become a part of the market and stresses the holistic aspect of homeownership beyond mere financial considerations.
